About the event

Seagrasses are flowering plants that provide a rich habitat for marine life, store carbon and protect our coasts from storms. In this online session, marine ecologist Alexander McMaster will introduce seagrasses from Ireland to the Mediterranean, giving insights through his work as a scientific diver and underwater photographer. We will look at ways that coastal communities in Kerry and Cork are working to study and protect their meadows, with citizen scientist Ed Sheldon, and diver and environmental scientist Tim Butter. This will be the first in a series of engaging webinars that take a deep dive into the underwater world and its wild creatures.
